It all started with the blue dress in Great Sand Dunes National Park.
Well, it kind of started before that, with Melissa requesting other friends take photos of her while traveling in the Blue Dress. Melissa then filled the role of both the model and creative director, asking said aforementioned friends to click the shutter release button for her. Eventually Melissa upgraded photographers by traveling with Rochelle.
On the other hand, Rochelle had always wanted someone who wanted to be *in* the photos at gorgeous places, since she’s been well aware of her tendency to do whatever is necessary to get the shot she’s envisioned. (Including, but not limited to kneeling in mud, climbing up precarious places, and wading deep enough into water that the camera had to be held up to keep it from getting harmed.)
On their first trip that included flying, Melissa and Rochelle headed to Colorado, trekked up the Great Sand Dunes and proceeded to confuse the adventurers around them as they created epic photos at the top of the highest sand dune in the park.
And thus the Blue Dress Diaries started its *official* first chapter. We can call the early days the prequel.
