The Big House & the Blue Dress

Melissa may appear to be a princess who stepped out of a fairy tale, but she has a lot more depth to her than just appearing to be royalty. One of her many interests is football, specifically college football.

In fact, this past summer Melissa showed her friends and family how football was such a large part of her life by choosing to get married at a location more known for football fervor than wedding celebrations. That location was The Big House, the giant football stadium at the University of Michigan.

Wedding rehearsal was on the field of the stadium and it was the only time Melissa and Rochelle knew they would be able to slip away from directing last minute details for Melissa’s wedding and take some photos.

Melissa quickly changed out of her little white dress which she had on for the wedding rehearsal, and into the Blue Dress. She did keep on her sparkly white rehearsal shoes though!

Melissa and Rochelle took some photos near the center of the field, then Rochelle suggested they move down to one of the end zones. Both Melissa and Rochelle ran across the field, an experience neither really expected, considering the lack of football games played by either of them.

Today happens to be an important day for the University of Michigan and their Wolverines, as they are playing in the College Football Playoff National Championship game vs. The University of Washington. The University of Washington is the local playoff favorite since both Melissa and Rochelle live in the Seattle area now. However, Melissa will still be cheering for her Wolverines! Go Blue! (and while we are cheering, Go Blue Dress Diaries!)

(It should be noted that Rochelle had to do some research on what game exactly was going on, instead of just saying “Goooooo Sports-Ball, which color are we cheering for?”.)
